All Colorado PERA members can enroll in the PERAPlus 401(k) Plan. It’s an easy way for your employees to save more for retirement. We know that many employers offer other voluntary investment plans beyond the PERAPlus 401(k) Plan. We encourage members to save for retirement through a variety of programs.
However, it’s important for employers to note that you must allow interested employees to participate in the PERAPlus 401(k) Plan—even if you prefer they use other options. If you don’t, the IRS requires the replacement of the “missed deferral opportunity.” Contact your Employer Representative or the PERA Defined Contribution Team at 303-398-7665 with any questions.
