A New Way to Get Help with Social Security Disability Insurance and Medicare

November 9, 2020

Earlier this year, Colorado PERA announced a partnership with SSDC Services Corp. (SSDC), a national advocacy firm specializing in Medicare coordination and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. SSDC has over 30 years of experience partnering with organizations like PERA to provide these services.

SSDC can assist PERA retirees in the following ways completely free of charge:

  • Identify whether you or your dependent(s) are eligible for SSDI benefits and assist with filing and obtaining these benefits at no cost to you. SSDC has successfully helped thousands of individuals obtain SSDI benefits. If you did not pay into Social Security and are not eligible for SSDI benefits, SSDC can still help you navigate the process of qualifying for early Medicare which will provide you with improved health insurance options at a lower cost.
  • Provide assistance with enrolling in Medicare Part B without premium penalties if you are under age 65 and are already enrolled in  Medicare Part A. (If you are currently enrolled in PERACare and already have Medicare Part B, please contact PERA’s Customer Service Center for information about Medicare plan options through PERACare.)
  • Access to a toll-free hot line to answer your questions concerning SSDI and Medicare issues.

You may receive correspondence and phone calls from SSDC. We encourage you to review and respond to any correspondence you receive. Call SSDC at 1-800-374-9950 x390 or visit SSDC’s website if you have questions.
